What is your first memory of being really excited?
Jessica: I got off the bus after kindergarten and my dad was sitting on the rock next to our mailbox and the sprinkler was going. He said mom has a surprise for you on the side of the house! I ran to the side of the house and there she was with a little fluffy golden retriever puppy! … We named her Maxie!
Kristin: When I was really little, I woke up in the middle of the night and wanted to see if Santa came yet, so I peeked… And I saw a Little Tykes Doll House.. It was so big that it wasn’t wrapped, I remember going up to it, touching it, and just staring at it! I freaked out! And of course, I couldn’t get back to sleep after that.
When you were growing up, what did you want to become in life?
Jessica: Hairstylist or FBI Agent
Kristin: I wanted to be the next Sally Jesse Raphael. I always wanted my own talk show.
What is the one thing you would want your children to know about life?
Jessica: Never waste a single moment. And if you love someone, don’t be afraid to tell them.
Kristin: Make yourself happy first, because when you are happy everything falls into place as it should.
If you could travel back in time and meet yourself as a 10 year old, what advice would you want to give her?
Jessica: Don’t blow up your credit cards!
Kristin: Don’t make any decision until you have to.
Where is one place you really want to visit?
Jessica: Tokyo, Japan
Kristin: Four Corners Monument...Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah
What are 3 things most people don't know about you?
Jessica: I can rap to Lose Yourself by Eminem, I'm just now starting to love country music, and I could eat from Fattoush daily, best restaurant ever.
Kristin: I love to scrapbook, I write in my journal daily, and I mentor weekly at a high school for a program called Winning Futures. The experience is priceless.
What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Jessica: Zip lining through the Mexican jungle. I’m terrified of heights.
Kristin: Moved out of state not knowing anyone.
What’s your favorite color?
Kristin: Does glitter count as a color? ☺
Who’s been an inspiration/mentor to you in your life?
Jessica: My parents. They did everything they could to give my brother and me a great life. Even if they were hurting financially, we would have never known. They gave us the world growing up & they still do.
Kristin: Melissa Jaqua, Rachelle King, and Tina Salerno. They’re such courageous women. I can’t say enough good things about them, I just idolize them so much.
If you could put any words of wisdom in a million fortune cookies, what would you put in them?
Jessica: "Know who you are, do it on purpose."
Kristin: "Never let a bad day be enough to talk you into giving up. Sometimes everyone feels just like you."
